500 years under the Ottoman Empire, the devastation of two world wars, and then one of the harshest communist regimes in modern history have defined Albania far too long — centuries so dark that in 1967 its constitution declared, “God does not exist.”
Since the fall of communism in 1991, freedom of faith has returned, but the Church is still finding its voice amid poverty, corruption, and brokenness. Selah exists to help worshipers know and love God, to raise songs that belong to this land, and to see authentic praise spread from Albania throughout the Balkans — so that Jesus is lifted high and His Church is strengthened in hope.
